Privacy Guidelines for NCLegal.com

Why a privacy guideline?

NCLegal.com does not require its users to register, or require its users to provide any identifying information before using any part of this site, so there are less privacy concerns in relation to this site as compared with others.  Users may provide identifying information voluntarily using the web-based forms or by sending e-mail.  This privacy guideline is provided because internet users generally feel more comfortable using a web site if they know if and how information is gathered by a web site and how the information is used.

What information does NCLegal.com collect from users of this site?

The NCLegal.com web site collects only the personal information of its visitors that the visitors themselves provide to NCLegal.com by using the web-based forms on this site (e.g., the “Sign Guest Book” form) or by sending e-mail.  NCLegal.com does not use cookies to gather information or to identify its users.  The web server on which NCLegal.com resides collects the IP address, browser type, and time and date of visit, as does nearly every web server.  Such information is provided to NCLegal.com in its log files for system administration and tracking the number of visitors.

Does NCLegal.com use cookies to obtain personal information?

No.

Does NCLegal.com monitor activities (e.g., searches or page views) its users undertake at other web sites?

No.

Does NCLegal.com share the information provided using the web-based forms or e-mail with anyone besides the web author and the web author’s law firm?

E-mail addresses provided are not shared with others.  They are not sold to third parties or otherwise given to others for any sort of mailing list.  Information provided by users using the web-based forms besides e-mail addresses  may be shared with others.  For example, suggestions of sites that should be indexed may be posted on the site.  User's names will not be associated with comments provided without asking the user first.

How is the information provided using the web-based forms or e-mail used?

The author of NCLegal.com plans to use the information provided to improve this site and to communicate with those who use the site.  For example, information submitted (e.g., link suggestions and comments) may be posted on this site or otherwise used.  As another example, periodic (but relatively infrequent) e-mails about changes in NCLegal.com and other aspects of NCLegal.com may, if time permits, be sent to those who supply their e-mail address (if a user does not wish to receive such e-mails, the user need only indicate such a wish and the user will be removed from the mail list).

Is this Policy Guideline statement a contract?

No.  These guidelines may change from time to time without notice.  Please read these guidelines each time you visit this site.

If you have any questions about privacy and this site, please send an e-mail with your questions to privacy@nclegal.com
